GameGuru Adventures

It would appear the release of V1.13 went very well indeed, and I have even received some very glowing emails of congratulations on the build, so thanks everyone for the kind words, and I hope to repeat this success with another solid release in the very near future.  One little gem that's emerging from the community is a series of videos on making GameGuru levels, and it's great to see all the capabilities of GameGuru being brought to bear on the creative process. Here is the latest I received over the weekend:

In other news, my inbox has been assaulted with lovely FBX models that users want working in the next build of GameGuru, which is now sharing my finite daily allowance of hours with my other task which is to design the Easy Building Editor for the next major release.  I agree with those who emailed that full robust FBX support is vital, not just for artists looking to bring in their latest creations but for anyone who has an FBX collection and wants to make use of them in their games.  We have seen some amazing FBX models and textures out there, and we feel it would be a great score if GameGuru could incorporate this material and turn great graphics into great games. Naturally along the way, we will be implementing a small collection of needed tweaks and improvements as we move along, and infact we've already made 8 fixes for the next build, one of which substantially increases the lightmapping speed of scenes by switching off the terrain from the shadowing process. A great little flag if you are creating interior only levels!

I will be keeping the progress of the Easy Building Editor a little dark until I have something worthy to reveal to you, but you are welcome to discuss with me the specific details on the main GameGuru website forum, and perhaps even influence the direction of this amazing little module.  Just imagine, being able to paint a building as easily as painting grass in your level.  Then imagine being able to run around, in and on top of it with full fast collision and great texture mapped surfaces to goggle at.  Can't wait to reveal more when the time comes!
